National Honor Society

National Honor Society is a service organization open to students who demonstrate good character, service, scholarship, and leadership.  Through NHS chapter service activities, members maintain and extend the qualities that won them selection.  Membership is this both an honor and a commitment.

Approximately once a month, during lunch

Agenda / Activities

  • Tutor

  • Fundraise for local charities and support the student body

  • Volunteer for various school activities including Open House, Senior Citizen lunches, etc

  • Sponsor Winter Semi Formal Ball in January

  • Assist with Buffalo News Kids Day 

  • Volunteer with Lion's Club Red Kettle Campaign

  • Can and bottle drive for student scholarships

Who can join

Students with a 90 or higher grade point average are invited to apply.  Selection for membership is based on an application, interview, and a majority vote by the Faculty Council

Expectations

Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate the qualities that won them acceptance; maintain GPA of 90.00 or higher, uphold the level of character of a role model, volunteer a minimum of 20 hours of community service, (10 hours need to serve Attica School District), and provide tutoring when needed.
