Sarah Stenson, a STEAM teacher at Attica Elementary School, is our latest Attica All-Star!
Elementary School Principal Sherry Bennett nominated Stenson “for the incredible opportunities Sarah has created for our students.”
“In addition to the new STEAM program that she has created she is implementing in the Elementary School, Sarah also serves as the coordinator of the After School Program through the school climate grant awarded to our district in 2019,” said Bennett. “The grant is in the fifth year and, each year, Sarah works together with the staff to implement interesting, exciting and enriching programs for our students.”

This year, Stenson and other staff in our Elementary School launched a culinary and etiquette club, a before-school intramural club and are looking to continue with the Drama Club, which proved very popular with students during the 2022-23 school year.
Stenson is also organizing a family STEAM night for each grade level in the Elementary School. The idea, said Bennett, will be to offer students and their family members the opportunity to explore some of the amazing tools our STEAM program has to offer.
“I would be remiss if I didn't mention Sarah's impact as a co-worker,” said Bennett. “Sarah is a team player that is always willing to do whatever is necessary to support both the students and the staff. She is the first one to offer to cover a class, pick up a duty, or spend time with a struggling student. Her experience in the Elementary School is invaluable and we all appreciate her guidance and support.”
Nominees for future Attica All-Star recognitions can be submitted to your building administrator or direct supervisor. Nominees can be any district employee that goes beyond the usual scope of their duties and whose efforts have a positive impact on students and the district. Nominees will be considered by the district’s leadership team and recipients will be announced every few weeks.
