Blood drive flyer

Attica’s Connect Life Club is hosting a blood drive next month.

The drive is scheduled for Wednesday, March 2 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m, in the high school’s auxiliary gymnasium. It is open to Attica teachers, staff and students who are 16 years of age or older. Donors must weigh at least 120 lbs in order to give blood.

The blood drive is closed to members of the public.

If you are a student who is 16 years old, you must bring a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian before you’ll be able to donate. Permission slips can be picked up from Melissa Girdlestone in room 199.

After securing 20 donors during a drive earlier this school year, the Connect Life Club’s goal for this coming blood drive is to secure 25 donors. To help reach that goal, donors who give a pint of blood will be presented with a coupon for a free pint of Perry’s ice cream. In addition to the coupons, donors will also be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card.

There are appointments available during high school periods 1 through 9 and middle school periods 1 through 7. Donating blood usually takes between 30 and 40 minutes.

To make an appointment to donate, stop by room 199 to see Melissa Girdlestone or contact her via email at mgirdlestone@atticacsd.org or by phone at (585) 591-0400, ext. 1199.
