Today, Ellie Cusmano signed her national letter of intent to attend SUNY Brockport this fall!
Ellie plans on majoring in physical education, will compete as a member of the eagles’ volleyball team and may also run track.
In her senior volleyball season, Ellie led our varsity squad to the Section V Class C1 Title and subsequent run to Far West Regionals. She had 59 aces, 169 digs and led the team in kills with 283. At the conclusion of the season, she was named the Section V Class C1 Volleyball Tournament MVP and All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year by the Democrat and Chronicle and was the recipient of the News 8 WROC/Primetime585 Elite Award in girls volleyball in the small schools division.
In track, Ellie is a four-time Genesee Region Athletic Association All-Star and a three-time team sectional champion. She holds a piece of Attica’s school record in the 4x100-meter relay (52.13), a career-best time of 17.10 in the 100-meter hurdles and marks of 16 feet, 5 inches and 34 feet, 9 inches in the long and triple jumps, respectively.
Congrats, Ellie!

Attention Attica: Due to staffing issues, our Fitness Center will be closed Saturday, June 1.
We apologize for the inconvenience!

For the third year in a row, members of our National Honor Society chapter, along with adviser Melanie Loranty Dispenza and High School Counselor Erica Frongetta, participated in the United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes’ annual Day of Caring last week!
This year, our volunteers helped to beautify St Joseph’s parish in Batavia, spreading mulch and sprucing up flower beds.
It was a beautiful day and a great way to give back to a worthy cause.
Super proud of our students for giving of themselves and embodying service - one of NHS’s 4 pillars!

We had the pleasure earlier this week of hosting signing ceremonies for 2 of our student athletes - Cole Harding and Maddie Robinson - who will all be furthering their academic and athletic careers at college in the fall!
Cole Harding committed to SUNY Brockport where he’ll play basketball for the eagles.
Cole finished his high school basketball career as Attica’s 3rd all-time leading scorer with 1,019 points. In three years of varsity, he also amassed 232 assists, 618 rebounds and made 122 three-pointers. He is a two-time Genesee Region Athletic Association All-Star and a five-time GR Player of the Week.
Maddie Robinson signed her letter of intent to attend Monroe Community College where she’ll play volleyball and softball for the tribunes.
Maddie played a huge role in the Blue Devils winning the Section V Class C1 volleyball title this past fall and their subsequent run to the Far West Regionals. During her senior volleyball season, Maddie amassed 197 kills, a team-leading 86 aces and 210 digs and was named to the All-Greater Rochester First Team.
In softball, Maddie was a four-year varsity player and three-year captain in softball and has been named a Genesee Region Athletic Association All-Star the past four years.
During her senior season, she had 25 hits, 23 RBIs, stole 25 bases and posted a batting average of .446. On the mound, she had 85 strikeouts in 64 innings and posted an ERA of 4.27.

Our 7th graders enjoyed an informative field trip to the Seneca Falls Historic Park last week.
As part of our social studies curriculum, 7th grade students examine the efforts of women to gain more rights and the significance of the Seneca Falls Convention and the Declaration of Sentiments, an important precursor to adoption of the 19th Amendment more than 70 years later in 1920.
“We visited the Wesleyan Chapel where the convention originally happened on July 19 and 20, 1848 and the women composed the Declaration of Sentiments,” said 7th grade social studies teacher Sarah Czekanski. “We also visited the Women's Right Museum which, along with the chapel, are part of the Seneca Falls Historic Park.”

One of the best parts about our proposed capital project is that it will have no tax impact on district residents!
If voters approve it tomorrow, the vast majority of the project - about 83 percent of eligible project costs - would be paid for through additional building aid from New York State. The balance of the project - about $4.94 million - would be paid for using money from our existing capital project reserve fund.
District voters approved the creation of this reserve in 2015 for the purpose of funding the local share of future capital projects. Money in this fund is strictly regulated by state law and can only be used to fund the local share of capital improvement projects.
Residents will vote on our capital project proposal as well as our budget proposal for the 2024-25 school year tomorrow - Tuesday, May 21. Polls will be open in our Performing Arts Center, 3338 East Main Street Rd., Attica, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Hello Attica families! A reminder that our 3rd Annual Wellness Fair & Family Game night is this Thursday, May 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. in our High School Gym, 3338 East Main Street Rd., Attica.
This free, family-friendly event will have interactive booths, animals, food and games.
We have more than 30 vendors registered to attend this year’s fair from a variety of local service agencies and businesses.
For more information, contact the Wyoming County Youth Bureau at (585) 786-8850, ext. 1.
We look forward to seeing you Thursday night!

Should voters approve it tomorrow, our capital project would include the creation of a dedicated STEAM room in our Elementary School.
We began offering STEAM class as a once per week special to all our elementary school students this year and it’s proved so successful, we’re planning on expanding it in our middle school next year!
This new space would allow us to continue to boost creative thinking, encourage curiosity and foster collaboration among students while also expanding the types of projects they’re able to tackle in STEAM class.
Residents will vote on our capital project proposal as well as our budget proposal for the 2024-25 school year tomorrow - Tuesday, May 21. Polls will be open in our Performing Arts Center, 3338 East Main Street Rd., Attica, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
