Members of our 5th/6th grade chorus under the direction of Mrs. Julie Daley performed at the Darien Lake Music Festival June 9. Our student musicians did an amazing job, even singing one of their songs a capella when the accompanying music didn’t work. As a result of all their hard work, our students’ performance earned them a score of 97.3 and a second place finish! It was a great afternoon of music (and a few rides, too). FARM TO SCHOOL: Our latest taste testing event this past Friday was doubly enjoyable for students. First, students sampled chocolate milk from The Vintage Cow and got to meet with owner and farmer Katie Carpenter. Then, students tried the new peanut butter and jelly yogurt parfait which our food service staff will be offering regularly during lunchtimes next school year. (Photos courtesy of Alicia Spoth)

SENIOR SPOTLIGHTS: After 13 years, it’s nearly time to say goodbye to our seniors. Over the next several days, we’ll be highlighting each and every member of the Class of 2023 and their plans after graduation. Whatever the future holds, we’re grateful for the time we got to spend with these incredible students and know they’ll make Attica proud, regardless of the path they choose to walk. Congratulations, Attica Class of 2023!

As they were lining up in the hallway yesterday, one of our kindergarteners enthusiastically told us that they were high schoolers now (before immediately launching into a story about their mom’s pet bearded lizard and how fast it was growing). While they aren’t quite high schoolers yet, yesterday was nevertheless a big day for our kindergarteners as they “graduated” from kindergarten and are now looking forward to moving up to the big, bad 1st grade next year. Congratulations to our kindergarteners on their achievement - we can’t wait to celebrate with you again in 2035 when you walk across our stage as high school seniors!

Competing against the top runners from large and small schools across the state, Simon Lamparelli takes fourth place in the 400 meters Federation race at the New York State Track and Field Championships in Middletown with a 48.31. Congrats, Simon!

Oh, this happened too. Simon Lamparelli's 48.30-second run in the 400 meters earns him a second place finish in Division II and breaks Attica’s school record last set in 1998. (Photos courtesy of the Attica Central Booster Club)

Members of our 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade small music ensemble performed at the Manor House Wednesday under the direction of Julie Daley and Stephanie Gietler. Our ensembles played a number of musical selections, but residents’ favorite songs seemed to be “Take Me out to the Ball Game,” “What a Wonderful World,” “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and “America the Beautiful.” Some residents even chose to join in the performance by singing along! Our student musicians worked very hard to learn new repertoire for a great performance! (Photos courtesy of Julie Daley)
